Cynthia Willemsen, Consultant

With an international background of sixteen years in the art, auctioneering and property world,

Cynthia’s skills include marketing communications, media relations, strategic planning and event management. After more than ten years at Sotheby’s, London in the client service and special events department, Cynthia took her auctioneering and sales experience to the North American property market, coordinating the first property auction in Canada. Working with Kennedy Wilson Inc. and Canadian developers, Greenwin Property Inc. and Murray Goldman Real Estate Limited, she successfully staged the unique, multi-million dollar project in three Toronto locations.

She was then lured back to England to establish the international department of one of the U.K.’s top five commercial property firms, Nelson Bakewell, within ONCOR International, a global network of more than 200 property firms. She was instrumental in the company being named the top performer in the network within the first year, with a turnover of one million pounds of global business in the first eight months. After collaborating in the founding of The Siren Group Inc., Cynthia undertook an initiative to launch India’s first auction house, Bowrings, with office openings in Delhi, Mumbai and Calcutta.

Cynthia holds an Honours BA in Fine Arts from McGill University and speaks French and Italian. She has recently completed a Diploma in psychotherapy. Her hobbies include food and wine and she studied at The Cordon Bleu Cookery School in London, UK as part of the Chef’s program.
